| (3) carburetter. The oil guard in the rocker cover was too long which brought the inlet too near the oil on the surface of the cylinder head, also being at the side of the cover oil draining was sucked into it. We have lessened its height by .500" and made the inlet aperture at the opposite end of the guard, taken out the two steps set at an angle, and in their place fitted a straight piece of metal to within .393" of the top. PETROL TANK LOP.F.85553. R.R.S932-S934. R.R.SCH.634. Incorporating sealed filler and separate vent. The sealed filler and separate vent successfully keeps the petrol from splashing out on to the bodywork. The tank and fixings have given no trouble. PEDALS LOP.F.84284. R.R.SCH.591. OUTSIDE CLUTCH.ADJUSTMENT. ADJUSTABLE FOOT PEDAL. The pedals have been free from vibration noises. Anchorage and bearings are in a good condition. RADIATOR AND SHUTTERS LOP.E.81407 & LOP.E.81007. LWC.3783 Incorporating Harrison Matrix. L.83964 Deldvery Bend from water with pump/restriction plug LWC.3819 to prevent loss of water. The radiator efficiency has kept the average water temperature at 77°C; the maximum reached 88°C. The loss of water has been almost nil. One quart of water has been added during the mileage, the height of water in the top tank being 4.5" from the filler. STARTING CARBURETTOR CONDENSER LOP.E.84173. LWC.3741 - 3775. The scheme for preventing the starter carburetter opening whilst running is quite satisfactory. BALANCING CAM SHAFT 11c° LOP.E.84368. R.R.SCH.645. LWC.3737. gears The fitting of the balanced camshaft has kept the engine quiet and free from rattles. WHEELCASE & FITTINGS. LOP.E.83692. The supply of oil to the ignition distributor and water pump drives is apparently too much. There has been a lack of oil from the water pump drive housing throughout the mileage. | ||
