Dear Sirs, During the visit of your Mr. Davey on Wednesday last we discussed in detail the application to our Kestrel(Aero Engine) VI. Type Aero Engine of your S.U. carburetter embodying the automatic altitude mixture with increase of boost pressure. From consideration of the space available to enable this carburetter to be flight tested on the types of aircraft to which the Kestrel(Aero Engine) VI. is fitted it appears necessary to incorporated the top half of the carburetter integral with the blower casing, as has been our previous practice. We should therefore like you to quote us for the design of the complete unit, on the lines discussed with Mr. Davey and the production of one complete carburetter, with the exception of such as we ourselves should have to modify on our blower casing, for the purpose of flight tests. It would be understood that if such tests gave satisfactory results and would satisfy and meet the Air Ministry requirements we would discuss terms with you for the supply of carburetters - with the exception of such parts as would be included in our blower casing - for future engines outside our 1934 production programme. Furthermore we would ask you to supply designs, with a view to your production of, an inverted carburetter continued...... | ||
