18th August, 1937.

Messrs. Briggs Motor Bodies Ltd.,
Dagenham,
Essex.

For the attention of Mr.Cockrane.

Dear Sirs,

Thank you for your quotation of the 4th inst. We think that your figures for this frame in its present design are very interesting.

We are sending you some further detail drawings together with an arrangement drawing FB.3009, but we presume you have allowed for these parts as they are shown on the design drawings.

With regards to lightening holes and other holes for body brackets etc., we imagine that these would be put in with the blanking dies, so would not add to the cost of the frame. Have you allowed for such holes in your rather frightening tool cost?

We should also be interested to know how the price of frame would be affected if the quantity was increased to 2,000 sets and so on to 5,000 sets.

With regards to the material. We imagine that this is a grade from which you have had a lot of experience and are satisfied that it would stand up to our requirements. As in any case you do not wish to produce any sample frames, it would appear to be useful for us to buy enough material from you to make 3 of our sample frames.

It would be very interesting to have your quotation divided into sections, as we are not at all certain that the front pan cross-member, is the most efficient way of doing what is required.

Cont'd. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
