For the Attention of Mr. A.F.Lidsey, Experimental Department. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. 5th December 1933. Dear Sir, Further to your visit to our Works some days ago, regarding a suitable cover for the Brake Adjustment, two samples of which you left with us for the purpose of making observations, we are very pleased to enclose herewith a Print showing what we think would be a suitable article. By way of explanation we would mention that the complete Cover consists of two rubber portions linked together with a Cadmium Plated Steel Sleeve, which as the Brakes wear and the Adjustment is moved, will automatically slide into the rubber sleeves. The sketch shows the position when the Adjustment is as we imagine completely out, and approximately ¾" movement can be accommodated. With regard to fitting we do not think you will experience a great deal of difficulty in this direction and each part can be put more or less into position and if in the way readily moved. We sincerely hope we have given you sufficient details to enable you to follow our proposition and we now await your further remarks and instructions which will receive our usual attention. Yours faithfully, DESMO LIMITED. W. Pease TECHNICAL. DEPT. | ||
