Servo Fabrics - 20/25 HP.
------------------------

As we have previously reported, we find that the Cotton Duck fabrics fitted to 20/25 HP. Servos are not very satisfactory in service.

The troubles experienced are :-

1. Fraying of the edges causing the drum to drag on the outside of the fabrics.

2. Disintegration of the fabrics, sometimes after quite a small mileage.

3. Staples pulling through the fabrics.

With regard to the first mentioned trouble, we understand that By. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} has already arranged to produce some fabrics which are woven circumferentially, and this will probably improve matters in regard to 2 and 3, although we feel that it will not effect a complete cure of all our troubles.

We send herewith for your inspection a pair of fabrics removed from Chassis GAU-14. This car has only run 3000 miles.

We do not experience so much trouble with Ph.II servos, but they all show signs of disintegration when dismantled.
