| contd :- -2- We are also going to change the type of brake lining as we think Tenoid is inferior even to Ferodo for squeaking. We recommend that you do not try and alter the leverage to the front braking by modification to the swinging link on the servo. Actually we do not think you could alter the front to rear proportioning by altering the length of the 'T' lever on the servo. Any modification in the linkage to reduce the front braking will have to be made to the levers on the front brake countershaft. But we should like to try and get the brakes right by judicious selection of the servo lining and either using 45º cams or lubricated servo material. We should be interested to hear the results of your tests. We should like to again make it quite clear that an efficient servo increases the proportion of braking which goes to the front and an inefficient servo increases the proportion which goes to the rear, this without any alteration to leverages. We are glad to hear that Hobsons observations re. the telegage are correct. We are sending you the leather covers for the universal joint under separate cover. With reference to the side steering tube N.sch. 2258. We suggest that you cut 6" out of this tube and strengthen up the joint you will have to make in any way you | ||
