| X5420 Sft {Mr Swift} Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /EXP.D. Wks BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /10/H. 20.4.25. "INDIA(Production 20 HP. with 4-speed box and Front Wheel Brakes)" RE PIVOT. The pivot with the increased radius (.375) obtained by radiusing away the head of the bolt securing the cross steering lever to the pivot, has now stood up to 62 hours on the bumper. As the frame has now broken, it will be some time before the bumper can go into operation again, and therefore Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is in agreement that the pivot has sufficiently well proved itself to justify us going ahead. .150 The Works. should see that any of the pivots made with the old radius, (and I believe the only ones made of these were handed to the Experimental Dept.) should be scrapped. This confirms Wor {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} 's instruction to Sft. {Mr Swift} that if I agreed the pivot had run sufficiently long to justify itself, we should re-start machining same.
