(6) From time to time I notice that the nuts on the exhaust manifold come loose and one incurs the risk of blowing out the gasket. Why cannot we have some locking device on this?

(7) I hope you will feel sufficiently ashamed when I tell you that I snapped a shock absorber bracket. When I got down to it it was on the rear offside, and it broke through the hole in the bracket plate where it is attached to the cross-member of the chassis. I did not wonder why it had gone - it seems so ridiculously small to carry the load which is obviously imposed upon it on some of these roads.

We had to mend it there and then, and I am sure it is a better job than it was when it came out of Derby. When I bring the car over I hope you will put in a bracket on both sides which will not break.

(8) So far as the body is concerned, the dust gets into the back locker and makes a beastly mess of everything.
The conduits taking the wires up to the sidelamps are not rigidly attached to the stays; this causes a rattle.
The linings to the wings are badly attached to the wing or stays, as the case may be; they are only aluminium and are just bolted on - in time they pull through the bolts and cause an infernal rattle. They need a small steel strip, to take the bearings.

I understand you have revised certain portions of the transmission and that you want to change them on all these models, so I shall send the car over to Derby as soon as I can, when I hope the other points will have your attention.

With kind regards,

Yours sincerely,

Neville Rollason.

W.Rowbotham, Esq.

I will try and arrange to bring the motor myself when I will tell you how motors should be made!!
