E {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} /Ev. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} 4/MN.31.3.37. 646 Wraith III Open Coil Spring front Suspension. ------------------------------------------ We send herewith the following schemes showing the design of the open coil spring front suspension for Wraith III:- N.Sch.5060. Front cross member. N.Sch.5061. Front frame extension. N.Sch.5063(Sheets 1,2 and 3) General arrangement. N.Sch.5071. Spring pad and coil spring. N.Sch.5057. Steering levers and radiator mounting. N.Sch.5062. Triangle levers and movements. N.Sch.5073. Shock damper mounting and levers. N.Sch.5094. Yoke piece and bearings. N.Sch.5098. End of cross member and triangle lever bearings. These schemes are almost complete but would need a certain amount of detail work to be done to them to make them suitable for detailing. Owing to the decision not to go on any further with this design, at least for the present, we are issuing them to you for filing. We have also made the following schemes and details to enable the Expl. Dept. to make a mock-up of the suspension and to fit it to the bump chassis for bumping. Parts have been constructed in most cases in aluminium-bronze and their sections have been increased accordingly. N.Sch.5078. Upper triangle bearings. N.Sch.5080. Lower triangle lever. N.Sch.5081. Upper triangle levers. N.Sch.5082. Yoke piece. N.Sch.5083. Spring pad. N.Sch.5085. Jack bracket, bump and rebound stops. N.Sch.5086. Upper triangle lever pivot pin. N.Sch.5088. Upper triangle lever bearing nut. We issue these to you also for filing purposes only. Will you kindly issue the usual prints for all the schemes mentioned in this memo.
