[Handwritten: E7C4/T3822] Dear Sirs, We duly received your memo of the 4th inst. and have fully considered the Testing Set to which you refer. Your suggestion re the direct reading Ballistic Galvanometer would not be suitable as to make an instrument sensitive enough it would be very fragile and unreliable. We suggest a direct reading Bridge, supplied with alternating current from the secondary of a small Induction Coil, the primary of which can be operated from the 12 Volt Battery as you state, or from a Dry Cell. The range of the instrument with 3 Dials would be from 1 to .001 m.f.d.; differences of .001 m.f.d would be easily detected and the instrument would be robust. We enclose herewith a diagram of the circuit proposed, and please let us have your remarks re same. When replying please let us know if you prefer to use the 12Volt Battery as originally suggested or the Dry Cell. We will quote upon receipt of your further memo. Yours truly, p.p. W.G. Pye & Co.
