| Oy2-E-22524 /4616 February 22, 1924. Mr. Claude Johnson, Rolls-Royce, Ltd., London, England. (Copy for attention of Mr. Royce " " " Mr. E.Platford " " " Mr. E.Hives) Dear Sir: Re: Proposal Sheet No.29 Change Gear Box It was found, with existing boxes on the test stand, that pressing firmly upwards on the bottom of the box below the reverse pedestal would greatly silence the reverse gear. 25 Boxes were therefore cast with cross-webs below the reverse mechanism as shown in print-2874. This has eliminated the "growl" from the reverse mechanism to a considerable extent. This suggestion was previously covered in report Oy1/W-72323 on "Contemplated Alterations". It is now proposed to continue this practice at 801 on. Oy. M. {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Olley MO/E | ||
