Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std.5/MH. {M. Huckerby} 2.2.38. We have considered the cost of the alternative thread arrangements of the Filler Tube and Cap, i.e.:- (a) Filler Tube casting counterbored and with a spun brass insert sweated in position. (b) Filler tube casting with a machined thread in place of a brass insert. On comparing the cost of the two schemes, we find scheme (a) cheaper in factory cost by 4d.
