Referring to the scheme which you are producing for modified fan mounting on Wraith, we have measured up the fan centre to c/shaft centre distance on a car and this is 14 3/8 with the fan at the lowest position. In this position some of the Ferodo belts tried have been slightly too tight, while others have been on the slack side. We think, therefore, that it would be advisable to decrease this dimension to 14 1/4 to facilitate fitting the belt. We find that a movement of approximately .150" each way from the correct tension position can be permitted before the belt tension becomes unreasonably slack or unreasonably tight. The total available adjustment of the belt should be approximately .900" Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std. | ||
