| - 2 - 8. GEARBOX. This is to be the easy change type, and consists of the design which ran on 18-G-IV, with the sole exception of the reverse gear which is to be the later scheme including the fixed shaft with bushed gears running loose on same, the shaft having all lubricating holes in the lower half as explained by myself this afternoon. The constant mesh gears of both types will be 14 D.P's to the original width, but having a ground finish, the grinding to be done on the Maag machine. 9. PROPELLER SHAFT. We fit the 3" propeller shaft which will be shorter in length to accommodate the new easy change box design. 10. CROSS MEMBER CARRYING BRAKE EQUALISERS to be fitted further forward, and other modifications required to go with this scheme and the synchromesh gearbox. 11. NEW SHEET METAL THIRD CROSS MEMBER. 12. NEW BATTERY BOX AND SUSPENSION TO SUIT Item (11). 13. LOW INERTIA SPRING DRIVE. 14. FLYWHEEL WITH THIN FLANGE. 15. PIVOTTED TYPE BRAKE SHOES FOR FRONT BRAKES. We understand that all the necessary detail drawings are available, and supersheets should be prepared immediately in cases where these are not available, and the whole issued to the Works and other Departments as quickly as possible.
