BUFFER CLEARANCE ON EAC.111.

STD. 40/50 CHASSIS.
Free camber = 3.500".
Camber when loaded = 0.
Load = W.
Rating = W/3.5 in/lb.
Buffer clearance = 2.200".
Additional load to bring spring up to buffer
= W/3.5 X 2.2 = .63 W (nearly).

EAC.111. CHASSIS.
Free camber = 2.6".
Camber when loaded = .5
Total deflection under load = 3.1"
Load = W (same as for std. 40/50 HP.)
Rating = W/3.1
Buffer clearance = 1.550"
Additional load to bring up to buffer
= W/3.1 X 1.55 = .5 W

The spring will come up against the buffer for less load ( approx. 20% less) than in the case of the 40/50 HP.

CLEARANCE NECESSARY TO BE EQVT: TO 40/50 CHASSIS.
S = Clearance required.
W/3.5 X 2.2 = W/3.1 X S. S = 3.1/3.5 X 2.2 = 1.95.
Clearance necessary = 1.95"
