| HPS. {Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Les. 646 Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Les4/R.11.6.37. WRAITH FRONT SUSPENSION. Will you produce 2 chassis sets of bronze bushes to replace the needle bearing in the front suspension. We also want to try Duprene rubber to replace all the oil seals on the front suspension. With rubber seals which have sufficient compression to prevent any slip of the rubber on the shaft it should be possible to remove the chassis lubrication feed, and rely completely on the initial lubrication during assembly, provided there is a certain amount of reservoir for the lubricant. Will you, therefore, produce moulds for the rubbers, similar to that recently produced for the shock dampers Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 379. We should also like to try Duprene rubber to seal the lower yoke bearing on P.III. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Les. | ||
