CHANGE GEAR MECHANISM.

Under cover of memo BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /NS. {Norman Scott} 8/G.24.8.38. we asked HPS. {Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} to produce a change gear shaft similar to GW.1794 but in S/N. instead of S/ZN. This was done with a view to reducing the cost of production.

We are informed by HPS. {Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} /WSC. {W. S. Cassel} that this shaft was fitted to 29-G-V1. Would you kindly inform us if this new shaft is satisfactory, so that we could introduce it on production at some suitable date.
