Huckerby} 2.3.39. B.V. GEARBOX. As a result of the trial of the Wraith gearbox in 7.B.V., during which we were surprised to find that the overdrive was far from silent, we rigged this car up with a straight through propellor shaft eliminating the centre bearing. The result of this experiment was a considerably improved overdrive. We have asked Da. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} whether he thinks it would be possible to do away with the centre bearing on cars having the new frame, because although we think it would be possible on the shortest, we doubt whether it could be done on the B.50 or Silver Wraith.
