Mr Johnson.
19/8/12

Clearance of Chassis 1872 Whittington.

AD19/D19812 With reference to Mr Whittington's complaint of the 31st July, that, while in Scotland, the flywheel shield had three times struck the ground when passing over bridges, we advised him that we would fit a smaller flywheel if he could let us have the car.

You asked -

1. What was the clearance.
2. What is the clearance to be.

Attached please find memorandum TBBL/L17812, from Mr Barrington, on this subject.

A.J.Deas.

P.S. Mr Whittington has replied saying that he cannot spare the car before the winter but that it will not be going to Scotland again this year. He says he hopes the smaller flywheel will not spoil the running, and he would have thought it better to fit larger wheels.
(Y&Cauf)
Mr Cowen has written saying that the fitting of the flywheel would not affect the smooth running of the car, but, if Mr Whittington preferred, we would be pleased to fit the larger wheels.
