35. STEERING BOX. On F. {Mr Friese} 2. the steering box is mounted inside the frame channel. If 29/35 can be re-arranged so as to dispose of the steering box in similar manner the following saving can be made, and the break in the bonnet side removed:
Material 3. 2d
Nett labour 2d
Total nett saving 3. 4d

D.A. will consider this. Rather a big job.

36. SHACKLE BOLT. By using the half head bolt instead of the two key type, there would be a saving of:
Nett labour 9d

D.A. will design.

37. WIRING. If the wires to the ammeter were run along the back of the instrument board and then carried to the dash in the flexible tube from the switchbox, there would be a saving of:
Material 1. 3d
Nett labour 5d
Total nett saving 1. 8d

E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and D.A. to inspect model. (After inspection agreed to alteration.)

38. KLAXON HORN. If the motor type klaxon be substituted by a vibrator type of horn the saving would be:
If Bosch horn used 18. 3.
If Klaxon vibrator used. £1. 8. 9.

No decision. Mostly a matter of opinion.

39. FRAME. It is recommended that the possibility of deleting the frame trusses be considered. If this was done we could save:
Material £1. 19. 5.
Nett labour 18. 1.
Total nett saving £2. 17. 6.

Next 10,000 mile test to be made without frame trusses.
