Bailey - Chief Engineer} /Ev. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /FD. {Frank Dodd - Bodies} 2/JH. 20th. December, 1938. Messrs. Park Ward & Co.Ltd., 473 High Road, Willesden, LONDON.N.W.10. Dear Sirs, We wish to confirm our telephone conversation today with Mr. Ward, when we asked that no further experimental bodies be fitted with the Head & McLean ventilators. With regard to 2.B.50 which is being completed, we understand from Mr. Ward, that we are not too late to change over from Head McLean to another type. Will you therefore have a pair of ventilators made to the design brought down by Mr. Dodd, and fitted to 2.B.50. Should it not be possible to fit this type of ventilators owing to the body being too advanced, please fit a set of the Fisher type with operating mechanism as on 8.B.5. With reference to the other bodies now under construction, will you please have the Fisher type fitted to 30.G.7 and 3.B.50. and the new design as shown to Mr. Ward to 10.B.5. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
