Further to our EFCL/T20.3.29, it was our intention therein to refer to the question of parallel teeth versus slightly spiral teeth ( 5° or 10°).
Now that we have the longitudinal damper it is suggested that an experimental comparison should be made between an up-to-date system (as now instructed for production) and a similar system with slightly spiral teeth. We think it is now a case where we cannot very certainly predict comparative performance, but that there may be advantages in a 5° or 10° spiral.
