(enclosed copy of letter from Mr Whittington. Concerns lack of sufficient clearance) Has this car a large fly-wheel ?. If so I suggest we change it for our present type free of charge. F.H.R. Mr Johnson 23/8/12 AD5/D23812 Re Whittington. 1872. I sent the correspondence concerning this matter, (including Mr Barrington's report), to you on the 19th. inst. Possibly you will remember that Mr Cowen wrote to Mr Whittington saying that we would fit a smaller fly-wheel and afterwards agreed with Mr Whittington's suggestion that possibly larger road wheels would give the clearance required. In any case Mr Whittington cannot spare the car before the winter. A.J.Deas.
