6th April, 1934.

Dear Sirs,

Confirming our telephone conversation this morning in connection with the experimental 40/50 HP. chassis on which are fitted 20 HP. wheels size 3.62x18 with 6.50-18 tyres, we regret to hear that the tyre life is not meeting with your approval, but suggest that for this chassis at least 7.00 section tyres should be used.

Whilst the latter could be accommodated as an oversize on the 3.62x18 rim, we should not recommend this fitment for original equipment purposes, and even for test we feel that your results would probably be more accurate with the 4.00x18 rim.

If you so wish it, we could build up a set of wheels although a little difficulty would be encountered in making provision for balance units. Perhaps you would be kind enough to let us know if you require us to proceed with this matter.

We are, however, on your request despatching to you today, six 7.00-18 Fort tyres in the "90" pattern, this pattern being similar to that which you have on test in sizes 7.00-19 and 6.00-18 with a view to standardisation, on your 40/50 HP. and 20/25 HP. cars respectively.

Yours faithfully,
FOR THE DUNLOP RUBBER CO.LIMITED.
