[STAMP: RECEIVED 1931 DEC 4]

December, 3rd., 1931.

Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.,
Derby.

For the attention of Mr. Lidsey.

Dear Sir,

With reference to the writer's visit to your works on Tuesday to demonstrate the D.W.S. Jacking System.

We thank you for your interest and appreciation of the system and the way it is made. We now understand that you are going into the matter to see if it is possible to definitely approve the system for fitting to Rolls Royce Cars, and if it is found sufficiently good, to definitely recommend D.W.S. Jacks to customers requiring information as to the best system to fit.

We realize that it is not your policy to recommend any extras for the Rolls Royce but we feel in this case it would be to your own interest to recommend a system in which you have every confidence and can satisfy yourselves that the chassis and axles are not being strained and mutilated by inefficient jacking devices.

With our arrangement, it will be possible for you to have the jacks fitted by yourselves, either at Derby or at your Service Stations, and yet be quite independent of any coach built body subsequently assembled on the chassis. Though standardisation may be a long way off at present, we feel sure it is worth your consideration, even if you were to make the jacks yourselves under licence.

Continued.
