FRONT BRAKES - WRAITH.

In order to test the arrangement for giving slight flexibility under the tips of brake shoes, that has been put forward by the Works, will you please rig up 27.G.VI in the manner they suggest, using Ferodo FZ as a brake lining. The front brakes only are to be altered.

Will you reline the front and rear brakes of 25.G.VI with Ferodo VG.91, and arrange for the front brake linings to be extended by 1/8" at each end of the shoes. This can be done by rivetting steel plates to the shoes, to carry the extra lining.

We take it that you will make the necessary drawings for 27.G.VI, and so perhaps you will do so for the plates for 25.G.VI also. We should prefer brass bolts to be used on 27.G.VI for compressing the springs, with the head sunk in the lining. The two springs should each exe(Aero Engine)rt a load of 22-25 lbs. in the set position, clearance to be .015".
