| J 6122. Expl. Dept. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Wst.12/JH. 5th. October, 1936. Mr. E.C. McKinnon, The Chloride Electrical Storage Co. Ltd., Exide Works, Clifton Junction, Nr. Manchester. Dear Mr. McKinnon, Many thanks for your letter of the 3rd.instant. I note your remarks in paragraph 3. My only anxiety is that we must keep up to date with our batteries i.e. not left behind by some new developments on other peoples batteries. No doubt you will, or are already, experimenting with chassis batteries with the glass wool separators. In reply to your P.S. I personally do not know of any embargo on the use of soft rubber. As a matter of fact I think a soft rubber cover made in ozone or oil resisting artificial rubber such as "Duprene" would be a definite advantage. Kind regards, Yours sincerely, | ||
