| (4) CWB?/GH/23-5-27. switch is fitted above this and the cover appears to be quite out of proportion with the rest of the design, it is too high and too great in diameter in fact, too large altogether. Radiator Shutter and Starter Carburettor Control. The design of this is not liked at all. It is exactly similar to that reported on unfavourably on 12-RX. The lever for the starter carburettor is unnecessarily large and obtrusive, while that for the shutter control, which should be noticeable, could hardly be seen. This design has also the disadvantage that the fitting must be placed at the bottom of the instrument board with the operating lever projecting below, where it is very close to the left knee and is often accidentally knocked and moved in entering or leaving the driving seat. Boiling Warning. The red light indicator of excessive water temperature is very satisfactory and is very well placed on the instrument board. The following points were also noted:- Gear change lever. Although the longer lever is now standardised the short gear lever was fitted to this car. The clutch pedal could not be fully depressed without the toe fouling the oil pipe leading to the pressure gauge on the instrument board. This pipe should be given a different lead. The accelerator pedal could not be fully depressed without the foot fouling a body pillar. The car would be very uncomfortable to drive for long distances on this account. CWB. GWB. | ||
