RE. GRABBING BRAKES.

We note that you have complained of grabbing brakes. The servo you have on your car is fitted with cotton duck. This was not fitted on very satisfactorily; it was only intended for a temporary job to start with, and therefore possibly some of the rivets are standing proud.

If the servo really is fierce, however, we should like you to soak the cotton fabric in oil. We suggest that as a start you might try paraffin so that you can feel your way as to how it will affect the efficiency of the brakes.

Our experience is, however, that cotton duck maintains its co-efficient of friction quite well when soaked in oil in the same way that cork does, and therefore possibly if you run these fabrics soaked in oil they will give you just the braking you require with, of course, excellent consistency.

It would be an easy matter, if these linings prove themselves to be satisfactory when lubricated, to couple up the centrepoint lubrication for the servo.
