BENTSPORT CRANKSHAFT.

Replying to your H.1/W.18.3.32.

We do not consider the Peregrine(Experimental Bentley car never produced / Aero Engine) crankshaft suitable for the supercharged engine. With a damper hub and supercharger similar to the Alfa Romeo the master periods will be below 3000 R.P.M. and would often be reached on the road particularly on the indi-rect gears. The master period can be raised by using a crankshaft of larger dimensions or by having 5 instead of 3 bearings.

The Alfa Romeo 6 cyl 2350 cc engine has a 10 bearing disc web crankshaft with 75 mms journals which would probably put the master period above the speed range of the engine.
