To Mr Hancock.
[Illegible Signature]
Since you left Chateauroux(French test region) the weather has been all against road testing & the job is practically at a standstill. There is about a foot-of-snow on the ground & everywhere is frozen up. For instance when I noticed such a change in the weather I immediately ran the water off the engine (this was on Monday night). Tuesday morning when we turned in at the garage the wash tap was frozen up. It is still the same now. There was 25° of frost in the garage & it has been the same each day. No sign of the weather becoming warmer - I have not ventured to run the car since Monday - not even to feel the radiator in case of damage to Engin'. Tonight the roads are a mass of frozen snow & ice & looks likely to for some time -
With expecting you turning up every day since Tuesday, made me hang on - Had I not received your note yesterday would have wired you as I was getting very anxious about matters - As you understand me being strange on the job makes things a little different to know exactly how to carry on.
We have completed the work on Gear box - servo & Brakes as far as possible + have done most of the lubrication investigation - At present I have Both rear
