Wraith II Gearbox.

We send herewith N.Sch.4867 showing a stiffener for the frame at the point of attachment of the engine and gearbox rear suspension.

This stiffener is partly shown on N.Sch.4862.

The stiffeners must be fitted to the frame at the same time as the suspension brackets are fitted as the stiffeners are not wide enough to accommodate expected frame variations.

The forged suspension brackets already shown on N.Sch.4862 are to be of mild steel with nickel steel studs, which are to be a close fit in reamed holes in the cross bar.

If preferred the stud and forging may be one piece but in this case the forging must be of nickel steel. The stiffeners may be of mild steel.

We shall be sending particulars of two modifications which we require to give increased clearance for dismantling the gearbox from the car. They are

(1) The joint between the engine and the clutch casing to be moved 1" backwards.

(2) The 1st motion shaft to be shortened approx. .125".
