Wraith II Gearbox.

We send herewith N.Sch.4995 showing the universal 2nd speed coupling for this car.

This is the same as N.Sch.4824 for the Phantom III in principle, but the shaft splines now provide freedom in one direction. This results in the deletion of one piece, and also gives more room for the ring which can therefore be made stronger.

We have reverted to the floating type of bush as it appears that the pressed in bush is likely to be more troublesome than the floating bush for this particular duty even with adequate lubrication.

It is not convenient to use more than four plungers, and to commence with we suggest that the springs are the same as for the top and 3rd plungers. If these will not do stronger springs can be used.
