| ROY. {Mr H. Royce - Buyer} C. E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} C. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C. RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} K216 Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /Cgh. {W Clough} 1/G.7.12.34. BOTTOM HALF CRANKCASE - BENTLEY Referring to ROY. {Mr H. Royce - Buyer} 7/MG.5.12.34. and High Duty Alloys Ltd. letter of Decr. 4th. (ref. WCD/CS.), we are still of the opinion that the thickness now specified by Mr. Devereux viz. .1875 plus or minus .015 will give a sufficient reduction in weight to justify the attempt. Actually I estimate that there will be a saving even on these figures of 7 lbs. against an aluminium alloy casting with the thickness reduced to .150. Would you therefore kindly issue instructions to High Duty Alloys accordingly. BY BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /Dgh. | ||
