| To Hy. {Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} From Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to Nor. 25 HP. SERIES AFTER 'T': We understand that we have sixteen weeks in which to produce a car and run it 10,000 miles, in order to standardise any new material for cars which have to be manufactured after 'T' series. The following is a specification of alterations to the existing car which we consider are likely to be able to be fitted and tested out in the time available :- (1) Japan(Experimental Engine) cast iron head. (2) R.R. carburetter with Weir type induction pipe incorporating exhaust heated hot spot. There is a scheme for this in the D.O. but as there is some pattern making to be done, we should like it to be issued as soon as possible. (3) Lower Radiator. We consider that we ought to use the small hexagon type of American dented tube. In one of these radiators at any rate. (4) The new dashboard. (5) Improved exhaust system. We want to get the P.II. type exhaust system of which you are at present detailing, tested out as soon as possible, so that we can submit it to W.R. with a view to getting it approved. (6) Bonnet shutters. We ought to have the latest type of bonnet ventilator on this car. We ought to manage to extract from W.R. some approved form of diamond engine mounting for this car, otherwise we shall have no alternative but to use what we have at present.
