ENGINE COUPLING LOP. G.73570
Std. coupling modified to drgs. G.76044/5/6.
There are two slight bulges in the fabric coupling otherwise it is in good condition.

GEARBOX AND ACTUATING GEAR. LOP. G.74167.
The gearbox and actuating gear has been entirely satisfactory. The gears have been very good, especially the third. This was so quiet that it became a pleasure to use it to the full advantage in traffic. The box has been free from oil leaks.

SERVO.
The servo operated satisfactorily and gave good braking power up to the close of the test. In cleaning down for examination paraffin unfortunately got inside and made the servo very poor. We found it necessary to dismantle it and scrape the clutch faces before regaining effective braking.

BONNET LOUVRES. LOP. E.77046 - fitted with locks.
The bonnet started to crack at the top and bottom of the end louvres respectively, the crack creeping up until it went through the hinge. Throughout the test the bonnet chattered and received blows endways, by the action of the dash flexibility. This also caused the rear of the bonnet to be continually lifting, which would have the effect of placing a strain upon the side members. After strengthening up the 2 dash supports was practically no rattle from the bonnet.

RADIATOR. LOP. E.76788. Sch.979.
The radiator started to leak at the two bottom corners after 2500 miles. This is the first case of this during the 10,000 miles tests. We are of the opinion that it was caused by the continual and movement it received from the flexibility of the dash. We also observed that water was thrown out of the filler cap more than usual without the water boiling. We are of the opinion that the flow of water to the top of the radiator was greater than what the tubes would allow to go through and was the cause of the over-flowing. We did not lose any serious amount - approx. 1 qt. for 250 miles.

FRONT AXLE TO LOP. G.76395
Axle G.75484 modified to G.76370 to suit Hartford shock absorber brackets using sile steering lever G.75485.
Final examination we could find no wear having taken place in the pivot bearing, the axle had not deteriorated in any way.
Front brakes fitted with Mybestos linings G.74250. contd :-
