| - 3 - We propose to use Japan(Experimental Engine) III radiator, bonnet and dash. This means that the bottom of the matrix will be 2.625" below the top of the frame instead of as at present, 1" above. 18-G-4 had the matrix 1.25" below the top of the frame. The bottom edge of the top tank from the top of the frame was increased on 18-G-4, and will be increased under this scheme for the new chassis by 1". FRONT AXLE. Present standard type. ROAD WHEELS. We propose to use the Rudge Whitworth wheels at present on test. CENTRAL LUBRICATION. This will be extended on both axles. ROAD SPRINGS. These will be of the low rating type. SHOCK DAMPERS. These will be of the new split piston type, which bid fair to clear up finally the troubles we have experienced in the past. RADIATORS. The radiator would be of the increased dimensions referred to above for frontal area, and would include the thermostatically controlled shutters. ------------------ The foregoing represents our considered views as to what we think to be attainable and desirable without a break in output, the only difficulty being in the carburetter, but we feel fairly confident with the Zenith people definitely interested this matter could be cleared up quite quickly. This would, of course, particularly demand R's agreement. We would like to remark that it is absolutely essential to have an improved carburetter to justify the inclusion of the Japan(Experimental Engine) features of head etc. as without the improvement in the carburetter the gain in power would be too small to justify the expense incurred. We propose to include in the foregoing programme the approved modifications which cut down the price without affecting the quality. | ||
