Gate Change mechanism.

This has been quite satisfactory. The report of gate change fouling was due to the engine bracket being broken.

Servo & Servo gears.

Laminated servo plate springs G.SS {S. Smith} 190 to Arrgt.Drg.G.SS {S. Smith} 088. We have had no sign of servo jaggers. Loss of movement to servo case from pedal due to wear having taken place in the connecting links. This loss is equal to 3/16" movement of the clutch pedal. There has been no period from the servo gears.

Pedals.

D type pedals to suit cast dash to R.T. 1446-B & L.O.P. F.94142
The xxxxxx position of these in our opinion are O.K. No wear has taken place in the bearings.

This has on several occasions refused to engage. This has happened chiefly when starting up from cold.

Rear axle.

Rear axle No F.187 Map 15x47 ratio, fitted with modified thrust bearing distance piece in accordance with BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /TUS-14/CK {Mr Clark} -25-1-6.
We have not noticed any alterations in the quietness of the axle throughout the run. The axle casing has been free from oil leaks. From outside observation it is in good condition.

Rear Brakes.

The brakes have remain d efficient. Slight squeaks have developed more noticeable on the N.S. after loosing the spring damper. Brake mechanism has been damaged through stones hitting same.

Rear road springs & shackle bearings.

These are Firth's springs with slips integral with plates 300 Les. {Ivan A. Leslie}
We have examined the springs at the finish of the mileage, and cannot detect any deterioration. The bearing of the shackle appears to be in good condition. Spring clips tested for tightness were found to be O.K.

Propeller shaft.

We have had no trouble with this what-so-ever.
Very little oil is lost if not over oiled.
