| COPY TO Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Ox1487. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} E.2/HP. 21st June 1933. Mr. T.C. Skinner., Messrs. The S.U. Company., East Works, Bordesley Green Road, Adderley Park, BIRMINGHAM.8. Dear Mr Skinner, Replying to the second paragraph of your letter of the 19th inst. to Mr Robotham, the blueprints you show, Nos.1548/9 of the suction chamber and cap meet our requirements as regards shielding the air passages from the ingress of dirt. The outside diameter of the top end of the suction chamber is apparently not machined, but we take it you will hold down this dimension so as to always leave a sufficient annulus inside the lip of the cap for the passage of the air. Yours very truly, From A.G.Elliott. | ||
