Comparative tests on the Wraith 28.G.VI using

(a) A standard Wraith induction system with single downdraught Stromberg carburetter.

(b) The Bentley III induction system with two 1 1/2" horizontal S.U. carburetters and an automatic starter carburetter.

Both sets of figures were obtained with the following ignition features - standard Wraith coil.
R.R. distributor.
Lodge Sytox 640 Plugs set at .030 gap.

Immediately before running the tests the engine was decarbonised, valve seats recut and valves ground in.

The usual acceleration figures of 10 to 30,40,50,60 M.P.H. were obtained, and from them an acceleration curve proper was deduced.

Time and maximum speed up Ticknall Hill were recorded, a maximum speed test was run, and comparative petrol consumption figures were obtained at constant speeds with the Zenith. mile-age tester.
