BELL CRANK LEVER ON YOKE PIECE.
FRONT SUSPENSION - WRAITH III.
It is necessary to provide felt washers for the Olite bush in the bell crank lever on the yoke piece, and we show a scheme for this on N.Sch.5124 herewith. The bell crank lever forging is unaltered, but the bearing pin is reduced in diameter. At the same time we have taken the opportunity of increasing the shoulder on the pinto .1" thick.
At the request of the Experimental Department, and in order to cheapen the scheme, we have shown a fork joint in place of a ball joint for the outer end of the brake rod between the frame and the bell crank lever. This entails an enlargement of the boss on the end of the bell crank lever, and in view of the difficulties we are experiencing with rust on the frame intermediate lever, we have shown a soft stainless steel bush and a hardened stainless steel pin.
