Park Ward Saloon for 26-G-6. Your Ref: E {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} /Ev. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} 2/MN.24.2.37. We suggest this car should be black with brown leather upholstery, or two shades of grey with grey leather upholstery. Sg. {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} has recently had his car re-sprayed grey and in addition to looking very attractive the grey has the advantage that it does not show dirt and mud to the same extent as darker colours. Park Ward have in hand for us a sample Bentley saloon of a new design and we have told them to finish this car in Sg {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 's grey with the mouldings and wings in a darker grey. I understand you are to go to their works in two or three days' time to see the full size drawing of your new body and, if you are interested in the grey suggestion, then you will be able to see a pattern of the two tones we have chosen at the time of your visit. As regards the specification, the only suggestions we would submit are as follows:- (1) Ashtrays for occupants of back seat. We suggest these should be in the companions where they are usually looked for rather than in the side armrests. (2) Back light blind. We suggest you should try the electrically operated blind now available because many of our cars built to special orders are so equipped. We know its weight is rather more than the hand-operated blind, but it is a feature which is apparently growing in popularity. | ||
