This column is for Name of Person addressed. Mr Nadin Copy W Barrington DATE. 16.8.12 Reference: EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 10/T16812. With reference to Mr Spinney's sheet of July 30th ref. CJ27/C25712 we gave particulars to Mr Spinney of the ground clearance taken with the frame actually resting on the axles without the rubber buffers, and Mr Spinney was present during these tests. The tyre pressure in both cases were 60 lbs per square inch. The packings for the buffers were left on but the buffers themselves removed. In the case of the inverted springs the packings were ¼" less than for the three quarter elliptic springs. In the case of the ¾ elliptic the out-rigger came down on the spring ¹⁄₁₆" before the packing for the buffer came on to the axle-tube. Will you please ask Mr Spinney to let us have a copy of the clearances supplied to him [Handwritten on left margin]: X615- [Stamped on left]: A circular stamp with 'AUG' and '17 12' visible. [Footer]: This sheet must be filed with the correspondence to which it refers. | ||
