20/25 and Bentley Gearbox.

Perfect oil seals applied to both ends of the servo countershaft and modifications to reduce cost as suggested in Sft {Mr Swift} /WNW.1/EJ.12.12.35.

We send herewith N.Sch.4715 which shows the above.

A "Perfect seal" as on N.Sch.4697 is applied to the offside as well as to the near side of the shaft, as requested by Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /GWH. {George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}

On the nearside to lubricate the bush for the shaft the inner sleeve is deleted and the nipple extended to form a small reservoir for the oil from the Bijur. We rely upon oil from the reservoir finding its way in sufficient quantity to the bearing surface.

When the disc type friction device is used for the servo balance arm there will be no nipple, but the oil hole can be placed to one side as shewn.

We have incorporated the suggestion made in the memo referred to above, and shown by drawing WKS.170 to save cost by the use of wire rings instead of lugs on the offside bracket.

We have departed from WKS.170 in asking for machining over the whole cylindrical surface. We think that this is justified as we save weight and improve appearance at very little cost as the piece has to be machined on some part of the outside in any case.

An oilite bush is used for the offside bearing which is oilite standard except for length.
