To Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from R. {Sir Henry Royce} Copy to J. {Mr Johnson W.M.} Copy to E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Mr. Elliott tells me that he has the impression that the work has been stopped on the light form of connecting rod in which the big ends were white metalled directly on to the steel. This work should go on as instructed as quickly as possible, with a view of getting a test of the patented light steel piston. These being the only rods which are suitable for these pistons which I understand are ready for test. It is necessary to improve the fit of the piston rings in the grooves, I will send some suggestions later. (Sgd) F.H.R. | ||
