RE BODIES FOR E.A.C.IO.

I was at Sales a day or so ago and was informed that you would a chassis for the first EAC.IO. in about two months from now. They are therefore worrying us to design a subframe and suitable bodies so that they may put them in hand. We have not yet completed the chassis design. We had completed the design of the rear end of the car, i.ie. the frame, tank, grid and wheel carrier, but these are not approved by "R", who is sending suggestions. Until we have finished the main chassis features of the chassis of both India(Production 20 HP. with 4-speed box and Front Wheel Brakes) 3 and EAC.IO. we do not wish to spend time on the coachwork. We have told Sales this and have promised to let them know when we have a subframe built ready for them to orderma body.
In accordance with "R's" instructions, we shall do one standard body and a sports saloon and Sales will do the other standard type body. We do not propose doing anything with the sports saloon until we have completed the other bodies of the production type as we told by Sales that any ideas of a sporting car must be put away. If Mr Royce insists then the situation is different.
Likewise, we do not wish to make a move in the matter for a body for India(Production 20 HP. with 4-speed box and Front Wheel Brakes) three until we have given you enough information to build up a chassis.
I hope that this note will make the situation clear as far as we see it.
