| To Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} From G.W.H. Hotel de France Chateauroux(French test region) Indre 13 31/3/29 Rear shock dampers connecting links. We found upon dismantling that the bottom contacts were not getting sufficient oil, although the top contacts were plentifully supplied. It would appear that the arrangement for the escape of oil down the tube is not sufficient and upon investigating the design it is obvious that the oil escapes by the neck of the ball end before it can flow down the channel provided. We have therefore cut a groove across the top of the contact to bring it level with the undercut portion for the neck of the ball end, thus allowing more chance of oil escaping down the tube and so feed the bottom contacts. Herewith sketch showing the position. We have also drilled an .062" hole through the center. G.W.H. (Vertical text on left margin) DDC - 169 E (Handwritten note, bottom right) Seen H.R.
