| X5840 Hotel de France, Chateauroux(French test region), Indre. 18.5.33. To He/Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} From G.W.H. 1S. U. 1V. RE FAN Although we have increased the speed of the fan we are still going up to boiling point with engine idling. With the smaller fan on the 25 H.P. its effectiveness is reduced by being too low down the matrix of the radiator. On the Bentley it came much nearer the top. There is no poise from the fan with the higher speed, also on the road it does not give increased cooling. One other feature that may account for the inefficiancy at slow speeds is the less freer air passages through the matrix. HYDRAULIC DAMPERS We have still got a leak from the glands after 500 miles runnings. The rear are the worst offendors. We are waiting to see whether the leak ceases, as the oil level becomes lower.
