C. Fisher, Esq.,
The Stromberg Carburetter Co.Ltd.,
Bendix Works,
Tyseley,
Birmingham.

Dear Mr. Fisher,

You will be pleased to hear that we are continuing our experiments with the Stromberg Carburetter.

The popping in the silencer which caused us such concern has mysteriously disappeared. On the car which was behaving so badly we had the induction system off and replaced it, since when it has not fired in the silencer once. It is too much to hope that the trouble will not occur again, but it does appear that on this particular car there was a leak in the induction pipe or something of the sort, and that the problem will not be so acute in production.

With regard to carburetters, we want two carburetters exactly the same as the latest one you supplied, i.e., with 1.5/16" chokes and .066 main jet. We want these carburetters, however, to be supplied with hand-controlled starting choke. We want to experiment with the hand-controlled choke with a view to having something in reserve should it be found impossible to give us a carburetter where the automatic starting is incorporated in a neat and compact manner.

I should be glad to hear from you how soon it would be possible to deliver these carburetters, also what the cost would be, and we will send you our official order.

You were going to let me have particulars of the large double choke carburetter as fitted to the Lincoln and other engines of 7 litres, but these have not yet arrived.

Yours sincerely,
