| -2- RHC {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} /TVT. {T. V. Turner} 1/JWA.21.4.37.(cont) S. 5. The eight stud holes .3125 Dia. 5.300 P.C. should be drilled .700 Deep. This means that the inside of the Housing required modifications. The .675 Dim. will be increased to .850 Dim, similarly the nine .250 dia. stud holes should be drilled .375 Deep. Will this alteration add too much weight to this piece? A. {Mr Adams} Suggested modification would add too much weight. Suggest solder studs from inside of housing. S. 6. The two tapped holes in Square Flange for main Lever Fulcrum should be drilled .575 Deep. This will cause the Drill to break through and means that these holes have to be plugged up. Solder studs from inside. S. 7. GW.731. Could the screwed end for the Filler Cap be reduced to 1.100 Dia. in order to use on F.111. Cap.U.83644. A. {Mr Adams} See no reason why this suggestion should not be adopted. S. 8. Alter studs for oil Filler Pipe from 1 BA. to .250, and spread centres from 1.600 to 1.650 (N.Sch.4972). A. {Mr Adams} Understand all 1 BA Studs are cancelled. S. 9. The Bolts for the Rubber Buffers are square headed. Alteration to design required to use hexagon headed bolts. A. {Mr Adams} If hexagon headed bolts are used, the rubbers and buffer plates will require a modification. S. 10. GW.733. Could the 2.3125 Dia. Recess be deleted and a chamfer .150 at 45° be added? A. {Mr Adams} Agree a chamfer would be a little cheaper. S. 11. GW.739. This piece could be produced as a Die Casting. A. {Mr Adams} Understand all aluminium castings are being considered for die casting. continued. | ||
